Controls, jacks, and indicators
- Level
-
Use the Level control to adjust the output volume. Unity gain is between 10-12 o’clock, depending on which diodes are selected.
- More
-
Use the More control to adjust the gain. This control changes the bias of the transistor, so you may hear a little noise when adjusting. Don’t worry; this is perfectly normal. At maximum gain, this device can achieve explosive overbiased tones depending on the output of your pickups.
- Tone
-
Use the Tone control to roll off highs counterclockwise and boosts highs clockwise. A flat response can be found right around 3 o’clock.
Mode
Set the Mode diode selector to Ge (Germanium) on the left for a softer and more transparent tone. Set the Mode diode selector toSi (Silicon) on the right for a brighter and more modern edge.
Flexi-Switching
This device features Flexi-Switch® Technology! This relay-based, true bypass switching style allows you to simultaneously use momentary and latching style switching.
- Standard latching operation
-
Tap the footswitch once to activate the effect and then tap again to bypass.
- Momentary operation
-
Hold the footswitch down for as long as you’d like to use the effect. Once you release the switch the effect will be bypassed.
Since the switching is relay-based, this pedal requires power to pass a signal.
Power supply
This device takes a standard 9-volt DC power supply with a 2.1-millimeter negative center barrel. We recommend using a pedal-specific, transformer-isolated wall-wart power supply or a power supply with multiple isolated outputs. Pedals will produce extra noise if there is ripple or unclean power. Switching-type power supplies, daisy chains and non-pedal specific power supplies do not always filter dirty power and may result in unwanted noise.
This device can be safely operated from 9 to 18 volts.
